Overview of the Residential Community
Neo-Chinese Design Style
Located in Dongying City, Shandong Province, this high-end residential community embraces a neo-Chinese design style with a crane theme, symbolizing the supreme celestial realm in Chinese culture.
Crane-Themed Entrance Design
Crane-Themed Backdrop
At the community entrance stands a magnificent crane-themed backdrop, meticulously crafted from silver metallic hexagonal mosaic tiles, vividly depicting the image of a crane.
Interaction with Metal Crane Sculptures
In front of the backdrop, several exquisite metal crane sculptures are positioned, creating a visual interaction with the crane pattern on the wall.
Design and Craftsmanship of the Mosaic Backdrop
Hexagonal Mosaic Tiles and Reflective Surfaces
The hexagonal mosaic tiles used on the wall feature stainless steel mirrors with varying heights, creating a textured effect. These reflective surfaces produce dynamic patterns as they capture changing light angles throughout the day.
Pool and Lighting Effects
The pool in front of the backdrop adds a lively touch to the design. When the breeze stirs the water, ripples form and are reflected on the mosaic wall, enhancing the animation of the entire scene.
Craftsmanship and Creative Process
Tile Arrangement and Precision
During the creation of this backdrop, our factory team demonstrated extraordinary creativity and meticulous craftsmanship. The direction of each hexagonal mosaic tile was carefully adjusted to ensure perfect pattern presentation. Workers precisely measured and cut the tiles, using various angles and heights to create unique lighting effects.
Challenges and Aesthetic Choices
Typically, pixelated mosaic designs use square tiles due to their ease of alignment. However, we chose hexagonal tiles for this project, which, although more challenging, offered a more sophisticated aesthetic. By adjusting the direction of tiles of the same color, we significantly enhanced the visual impact and complexity of the design.
